12 Days of Blogging | Day 3: Positivity

In all the stress of University, coursework, exams, socialising and my love life, it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed sometimes.  2016 has had some real highs for me, but I’d be lying if I said there weren’t times where I’ve felt incredibly low.  I want to get out of this funk I’m currently in, and focus more on poitivity.  My goal for 2017 is to have a far more positive outlook on life.  I want to be one of those people that constantly flaunts rose coloured glasses.  So, to start off my new found positivity (and because I had no other ideas for today’s blog post), I thought I’d list 3 good things about my life at the moment:

1. I have a family that love me

They’ve been around my whole life, it’s easy to take this for granted from time to time.  However, being miles away at University has made me realise how much they really do for me.  Within a few hours of being at home I’d had an in depth conversation with my mother about everything that happened at University.  It felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders.  New, exciting experiences are great, but nothing quite beats unconditional love.

2. I’m re-discovering my passion

As I mentioned in an earlier blog post, I’ve been a bit lost this year.  However, writing again and knowing that I actually have subscribers who read this is re-igniting the passion that I used to have.  I forgot how great it is to genuinely love what you do.

3. I now live in 2 cities

I know that this is a bit of a weird one to list.  However, I was thinking about it the other day and it’s pretty cool.  It’s kind of culturally stimulating to know that I have a home away from home.  When in London, I feel that Bristol is the special place that belongs to me, and when in Bristol I feel that London is my home.  It’s hard to explain, but I feel like it adds new dimensions to my identity.  I’ve lived in London my whole life, and it’s fun to have a second city to explore without feeling like a tourist.

I have recently realised that it’s so important to try and retain positivity in this world.  There are so many things that can get you down.  Everybody knows what a roller-coaster 2016 has been, just look at any newspaper.  So, from now on whenever I get down, I’m going to try and list some good aspects of my life.  Hopefully it will make me appreciate life more.  It’s been working so far, so I suggest that you join me in this, let’s all make 2017 the year we stay positive!

Lots of love,

Jas xx
