The Christmas Tag

The Christmas Tag

I hadn’t done a tag post in absolutely ages and now here I am with two in the same week!  B from the bits and bobs in my brain tagged me to complete The Christmas Tag which I, of course, was extremely happy to complete.  As I have mentioned a bunch of times, I’m a massive fan of all things Christmassy so if I can add more Christmas themed things on my blog then why not go for it?  Without further ado, let’s get into the questions…
1. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
No, we’ve never opened any Christmas presents on Christmas Eve, I’m actually a big fan of the waiting process for Christmas Day!  I like the building anticipation and the wondering what you got, and the ultimate excitement of Christmas Day.  However, there was one Christmas Eve when I was around 7 or 8 and my sister was a toddler, and we were alone in the living room and my sister thought it would be genius to start unwrapping some presents… She was young and didn’t know what she was doing but I didn’t exactly stop her because I was a little curious myself…
2. Are you any good at wrapping presents?
My mum likes to say that I’m not but I strongly believe that I am.  How hard is it to wrap presents anyway?  They end up wrapped and in my opinion that’s good enough.
3. What is your favourite Christmas film?
I’m actually not that big a fan of Christmas films… I’ll watch the occasional one but I don’t really fixate on them (Christmas songs are an entirely different story…).  However, when I was younger I used to love The Santa Clause trilogy (The third one with Jack Frost was my favourite), so I guess I’ll go with those?  The nostalgia addict inside me now wants to re-watch them…
4. What is your favourite Christmas song?
As a child I was obsessed with I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday by Wizzard because as a Christmas-obsessed kid I related to it on a close personal level.  However, now I don’t think I have a favourite?  It really depends on my mood…  If I’m feeling all emotional it’s Oh Holy Night (but the Glee version sung by Lea Michele), I also really love I’ll be Home by Meghan Trainor if I’m feeling all romantic, and All I Want For Christmas Is You is an obvious favourite – you can’t not feel Christmassy listening to that song.
5. Where do you usually spend Christmas?
We used to alternate between family members, but for at least the last 5 years (I honestly can’t remember when we started), I’ve spent Christmas with my mum, dad and sister at home.  It’s my absolute favourite way to spend Christmas Day and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside… I’m kind of dreading the day when I have to be a proper adult and it changes.
6. Do you like giving gifts or receiving them?
Everybody likes to receive gifts, it’s always lovely, but I’m definitely a bigger fan of giving.  I work so hard to create very personalised, thoughtful gifts and I can’t wait to see people open them on Christmas Day.
7. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
The atmosphere, hands down.  I love the feeling of joy that seems to circulate around this time of year, honestly I thrive on it.
8. When do you start getting excited for Christmas?
I won’t lie, I’m one of those people that gets excited the second Halloween is over…  Christmas is legitimately my favourite time of the year, and the sooner I can get into the spirit the better.
9. What would be your dream place to visit in the Christmas season?
Winter Wonderland.  I live in London and I’ve never been and it’s really sad because it’s everything that I love in a singular place.  I even wrote about it in my 20 before 20 post.  HOWEVER, I’m going to Winter Wonderland later this week and I am ridiculously excited, it sounds cheesy but I’ve been wanting this for years (I’m always too busy/not in London when it’s going on, and it disappears in January when I finally have free time again) so I can guarantee that it will be all over my social media and there will possibly be a blog post.
10. Do you make any New Years resolutions?  Are you good at keeping them?
Last year I didn’t make specific ones, but rather made a generalised goal for the year (It’s confusing to explain, but you can find a post on it here).  This year however, I think I might set some goals… You can find out in a later post…
And there you have it, my answers to all things Christmassy!  I choose to tag anybody that wants to because I feel like this may be going around quite a bit?  May as well give it a try if you want to!  Feel free to answer any of these questions in the comments!
Lots of love,
Jas xx

I’ve never done presents on Christmas Eve either, we actually usually open ours quite late on Christmas day, I’m with you with new years resolutions too, I prefer to think of things as general goals x
