If it wasn’t clear already… I had a bit of a breakdown in October.
October hit my harder than expected. My life had a bit of a shakeup, Uni got intense, I had a very intense workload in other aspects and it was just… a lot to deal with at once. However, for the first time in a while, I actually let myself be sad. I wallowed, faced my feelings head on, went a bit crazy, and then brought myself back. And now I’m a slightly more sane, all round happier version of myself, ready to take on this blogging thing like nobody’s business…
Despite being the month I half gave up on this blog (I still uploaded… but it was a bit all over the place), October actually meant the start of many new things. I’ve thrown myself into the avenues that I enjoy, and I’m excited to watch them flourish more in November…
Because clearly I wasn’t doing enough student media. In all seriousness, I’m very excited for it. Radio and podcasts have always intrigued me but I have no expertise/means to do them. However, my University’s radio station opened their applications for this terms shows and me and my 2 flatmates went out on a limb and applied! Now, every Friday 5-6 you can catch the 3 of us on ‘Not So Fresh’ – a show about 3 third years who have been there, done that and are a little bit over Uni by now. It’s chill and sort of funny, I promise.
I wouldn’t be me without a little bit of shameless self promo. SO, if you follow our Instagram page and like our Facebook page we will 100% follow you back on Instagram. We need all the help we can get xoxoxo
Though I’ve somewhat abandoned my blog over October, I have been writing in other places! If you have been around a while, you may know that I’m editor of the mental health and wellbeing section of my Uni’s newspaper. However, this year, as per my 21 goals for 21, I’m really trying to branch out and write for other sections. Honestly I’ve been enjoying the challenge and variety. You can check out everything I’ve written so far here, or you can check out specific stories here:
Life’s too short to have things (That you can change) that upset you. I worked on surrounding myself with maximum good, minimum bad. Of course, some things are unavoidable, but changing the things that I could change certainly made a difference.
I don’t want to make any promises, because November is deadline central, but I have some ideas in the pipeline and some cool events and things to share on here. I feel like I worked with quite a few brands in October and my content became quite commercial… Don’t get me wrong – everything still stayed very within my style, but at times it bugged me. So, I’m working on some more organic stuff this month.
Also, I am so in the Christmas spirit this year, so I may… be doing… Blogmas… Stay tuned for December (If all goes to plan… Don’t hold be too
November is all about me getting my sh*t together and refocusing on my wants and my needs. Hopefully that will reflect in my content and goal completion and overall happiness. I honestly can’t wait, and I hope that you join me on this mini journey…
What are your plans for November? Let me know in the comments!
Lots of love,
Hey, I'm Jasmine Burke. A girl in her twenties fresh out of Uni that's trying to write in any way that she can. I go under the branch of "lifestyle" but honestly, you can find pretty much anything on here.
Sorry. No data so far.
