21 Goals – How am I doing? | Blogmas Day 21

On the 21st (theoretically) day of Blogmas, it felt fitting to check up on the 21 goals I set myself in September. I want to do 21 things while I’m 21, and honestly I haven’t looked at the list since I first wrote it. These last 3 months were far different than I expected them to be, and as a result I have no idea how these went. I’m looking forward to checking up on them and seeing!

I split my goals into sections, compartmentalising different parts of my life. Therefore, I thought I’d go through each section and give you an update on how they’re going. Anything in bold has been completed, and anything italic is in progress.


  • Delve into fashion more
  • More food related posts
  • Restart Youtube and be consistent
  • Bring back student diaries

This is quite funny, because I’ve literally only done one of these. I’ve been doing a few fashion posts and I want to do more, I just haven’t really had the time as they take so long to shoot. I suppose that I’ve also been doing a lot of food posts recently however, I wrote that goal specifically to do with recipes, and I haven’t done those yet.

I have actually kind of restarted Youtube! And I uploaded a video a few days ago! However, it’s not consistent yet… I’ll get there… Possibly.


  • Write a paid freelance post for a publication
  • Get some more work experience
  • Write for at least 5 sections of my Uni Newspaper
  • Have a second draft of my novel done

I’m not sure whether freelance writing is going to possible during the school year, as I massively underestimated my workload. However, I did write for 5 sections of my Uni Newspaper! You can check out all the posts that I’ve written here. The sections I’ve written for (So far) include:

  • Film (A Black Panther post)
  • Wellbeing (Many mental health posts)
  • Features (An interview and more mental health stuff)
  • Food (A review of the Free From Festival)
  • Living (A cocktail/club review)
  • Microagressions (An addition to a campaign)


  • A solid 2:1
  • 9-4 uni days
  • Learn to meal prep

I’m on track for a solid 2:1 so that’s great! That’s all I want out of Uni, and I think that’s reasonable at the moment. My grades are a mix of firsts and 2:1’s at the moment so I guess it really depends on percentages and my dissertations, but I’m happy with either.

Meal prepping and 9-4 uni days kind of tie into one, and they just weren’t practical for the sheer amount of work I had this semester. However, considering I have two (yes 2!) dissertations to write next term, perhaps this will actually become a variety.


  • Gym at least 3 times a week
  • Less meat, more veg
  • Keep my hair long and healthy
  • Fix my sleep pattern

My eating habits have actually been pretty great (Apart from my little rough patch), so the less meat, more veg has been going well! I just hope to include more of it on my blog in the New Year. Also, I am genuinely so proud of my hair. It’s come so far and grown really well, and is so healthy at the moment, it’s unbelievable. I’ve been working on what I do to it and how I treat it, and I’m so happy with it. Maybe I’ll do more hair posts in 2018! I already have blog posts reviewing cool hair products coming out soon…

I spoke about the gym one and my plans for that in a recent blog post (Which I strongly recommend reading). As for the sleeping pattern… Well, I’ve got a long way to go.

Fashion and beauty

  • Refine my wardrobe
  • Switch up my skincare routine
  • Be more experimental with eye makeup

My wardrobe is slowly getting there! Hopefully that will reflect in some fashion content in 2019. Also, I’ve spent the last few months testing out skincare products. I’m hoping to create an actual routine and write an update in 2019, but these things take a lot of research for me.

As for eyemakeup? Well, I have work makeup a total of 6 times from September since December… Safe to say I haven’t got that experimental.


  • Involve myself in music in some way
  • Travel to at least 3 more countries
  • Improve my writing style further

I want to get back into music. I want to sing and play the piano more so badly. Hopefully, this year that will become a reality. Also, Im going to Amsterdam at the beginning of February, so the travelling is on its way (Stay tunes for some blog posts about that!)

I won’t know how much my writing has improved until I look back in September, so I guess we’ll find out them.

So I guess that’s how I’m doing so far.  Let me know what you think of these updates and whether I should continue them in the run up to September!

    Aw I think it’s so beneficial to look over goals to see how you’re getting on and re-evaluate! I’ve been enjoying your latest fashion posts so if you’d have asked me I’d have said that you were doing well with delving into fashion more! I’m glad that your Uni work is going well and that you’re on track with these things!
