When I first started to get into reading blogs, I read everything and anything. The truth is, there are so many blogs out there to follow that it’s really hard to know where to start. Therefore, since Christmas is the season of giving and sharing love, I thought I’d share 10 amazing bloggers that you need to follow.
There are a lot of blogs I like and follow, but these are the ones I consider the creme de la creme. I hardly ever miss their posts. I get excited when I find that they’ve uploaded something new. Their blogs bring genuine joy to my little crusty heart. I want to dedicate a large amount of love to each one, so 10 in one post would be a little too long for my liking. Instead, this is part one of two posts dedicated to amazing bloggers this Blogmas. You’ll get the first 5 today, and the second 5 a couple of weeks from now. So, see if you find any that tickle your fancy below, and pop them a little follow if they do…
1) Sophie from Glow Steady
Subject: All things food (Vegan, Mostly gluten-free and mostly, if not completely, healthy), and beauty
Favourite Post: This one on food blogger confessions
I don’t follow many food bloggers, but you don’t really need to follow loads when Sophie is killing it as hard as she is! Her recipes are always so beautifully photographed and thought out, with detailed instructions and little descriptions of her own experience with the meal. I honestly don’t know how she has the time to constantly bring out new recipes, but she does, and it’s amazing. She specialises in vegan creations, and began an experiment to see if she could completely cut sugar from her diet in August, meaning she has loads of sugar free recipes. If you’re looking for some healthy food inspiration, Sophie’s your girl. Also, if you look things that are ridiculously aesthetically pleasing, please go take a look at her Instagram.
If her blog wasn’t enough, she’s also one of the loveliest people I’ve met online. Whenever she comments on my blog they’re detailed and loving, and her Twitter is pretty funny. We both share similarities in the fact that we struggle to sleep… And a couple of days ago she tweeted a picture of her dog which was THE CUTEST THING I’VE EVER SEEN. Go stalk her twitter and find it for yourself.
2) Alice from Black Tulip Beauty
Subject: “Lifestyle” (I’d say mostly food, beauty and chronic illness)
Favourite post: This one on body confidence
Alice is such a shining beacon of light and I honestly don’t know how she does it. I think I first came across her blog after a Bristol bloggers event but I’m so glad that I did. She’s quite similar to me in the fact that she writes about many subjects, but I’d say that her main focuses are beauty and food. Her photography is gorgeous and she writes with a bubbly yet honest point of view. Alice lives with a chronic condition and is very open about it and how it affects her, whilst still managing to remain quite upbeat. I don’t know how she does it but I’m glad that she does, and I recommend giving her blog a bit of a stalk!
*UPDATE* Since writing this (I wrote this back in August, and I’m doing this update the day before this goes live), Alice has undergone surgery and now has a stoma bag. She is absolutely rocking it, and both her Instagram and blog have become a place for her to really showcase, educate and speak up for something that I didn’t really know much about (Apart from Hannah Witton’s videos). Honestly, if you want to learn about it all, or just want some pretty empowering posts, check out her blog or Instagram!
3) Jenny from Jenny in Neverland
Subject: Lifestyle (I’d say mostly organisation, blog advice and self-reflection)
Favourite post: This one on how to get sponsored posts
Jenny’s another one that writes about anything and everything, and was actually one of my favourite blogs when I first started out. Before I really spoke to her online, I admired her for her detailed posts and how amazingly helpful her posts were to others. In fact, in my early days I really looked to her posts for help. She is the one to follow for growing your blog. However, since getting to know her online I realise that, behind the blog is such a sweet, caring individual. Also, she schedules all her blog posts at least one month in advance and is ridiculously organised. If you ever need motivation to get your butt into gear, Jenny’s the one for you.
*UPDATE* Since I first wrote this, Jenny has released an Ebook! I know that a lot of bloggers release ebooks and paid resources, but honestly I could not recommend Jenny’s book more. If you are just starting out, or even have been blogging for a while and need some tips, spend £6.99 and get Jenny’s Beginners Guide to Blogging*. Jenny is one of the most thorough bloggers I know, and she spares no detail with this book. Honestly, she gets into as much detail and information as you could possibly need.
4) Corinne from What Corinne Did
Favourite post: This one about her hairy legs
I don’t follow many fashion bloggers, because I find that a lot of posts can get quite samey, but Corinne is an exception. The effort that she puts into her posts radiates, and her photos are always gorgeous. Not only does she do outfit posts, but she also speaks out about fashion related issues, in a chatty and informative way. Her posts are easy to read and yet voiced by someone who knows what they’re talking about, and I strongly recommend. Corinne, keep killing it with the content!
5) Bexa from Hello Bexa
Subject: Lifestyle (With a lot of cute stationery)
Favourite post: This one with all the travel inspiration
Bexa’s blog is a celebration of all things cute, from her pink theme to her amazing notes and photos, to her all round cute self. Bexa is incredibly supportive and deserves all that support back, if not more. Her blog is a bit of everything. However, it heavily focuses on stationary and pins and independent businesses. Her notes are amazing, her photos constantly reinforce her aesthetic and her posts are clearly incredibly planned out. I have a lot of love for Bexa.
And there you have it, my first batch of recommendations! Like I said, there will be 5 more bloggers in 2 weeks time, so stay tuned for those! I tend to be a quiet supporter of people I love and less of a “scream it from the rooftops” sort of person. However, Christmas is such a time of cheer and love and sharing so I felt there was no better time to share some of my favourites with you.If you’re looking for blogs to read and don’t know where to start, definitely give these guys a try, hopefully they have something for you!
Do you follow any of these guys or like the look of them? Let me know in the comments.
20 days til Christmas!
