WHY is no one talking about this WordPress Plugin?!

WHY is no one talking about this WordPress Plugin?!

The title sounds like a clickbait spam ad, but I promise this is legit. You see, in my effort to be on top of things and do/find things that make me happy, I found the perfect Wordpress organisation plugin. And I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. So I’m going to.

But first, a backstory…

A long time ago in a land the same as this one, a (month) young(er) Jasmine was planning her December content. For the last two years she had worked away at creating a blog planning Calendar in her bullet journal. However, this year – to be quite frank – she couldn’t be bothered. In an effort to find the magical app that she imagined in her head, she googled “good blog planning Calendars” and lo and behold WordPress had one of their own! After a quick read and a cautious download of a plugin, she perused it for herself. One month later, she doesn’t know how she lived without it.

What is this magical plugin and how do I use it?

I’m glad you asked. Well, turns out WordPress has an editorial calendar plugin that you can install. Once installed, it appears under the “Posts” section in the sidebar…

Where the Calendar plugin is located

And then once you’re on it, boom – you have a whole Calendar to input and plan blog posts in.

The WordPress Calendar

To add a post, all you have to do is hover over the date you want it live, click “new post in the corner and start writing in the title.

How to input a new post in the WordPress Calendar

I use the Calendar to lightly plan and order my blog posts. I’ll choose the date and time of the post, put the title (Or a rough title for now) in the title box, and then a small bullet pointed plan in the content box. Then I click save, and it’s saved as a draft, as well as positioned in my fancy WordPress Calendar – I just have to click “edit” when I’m ready to write it, and it will take me to my regular Wordpress editor.

“What if I decide to change the date of my content?” You ask. Well, that’s another beauty of this plugin – you can drag and rearrange your draft to a different date, and the details will automatically change!

Dragging content in my WordPress Calendar

It does everything I want and I’m in love.

WHY didn’t I know this was a thing?!

I don’t know! Neither did I! Maybe I’m like super late to the trend and everyone’s been using this but hasn’t been talking about it? You’re probably all reading this post rolling your eyes because I’m so out of touch… But I was fascinated, and suddenly I’m far more productive than I was before. There’s something about it that really makes my whole blogging experience easier.

I must get it.

I agree. It’s completely free and you can download it here. Let me know what you think! (Also, it goes without saying because I would have declared, but this post is entirely non-sponsored and non-affiliated, I just really liked this plugin).

Have you ever used this Plugin?  Do you plan to?  Let me know in the comments!

Lots of love,

Jas xx

Popping back in to say I love this plugin! It’s SO NICE to see my monthly posts scheduled or drafted – it’s helped me stay more on top of my blog content, especially on days when my planner doesn’t leave my bag. 😝 Thank you again for sharing the knowledge! 💖

This is actually amazing – even though I blog on blogger but wow wow wow what a way to stay on top of things! I use Trello – which sort of work similarly minus the calendar format, I use it just to have all my ideas in one place and also it allows me to set myself due dates and to change the dates around and set up some boards (I.e. blog board, youtube board, insta board to plan content and have all my ideas together etc!) 🙂

Okay I’m so glad that after reading the comments, it would appear that we’re all clueless. I prefer to plan on paper but I do hate having to scribble and rearrange things in my journal and the fact you can make notes instead of writing straight in?! I’m sorry I was too excited to punctuate that last sentence. I’m definitely trying this. I don’t think it will replace my blog planner (especially because I spent about 10 hours in early December doing my pages for the full year) but I’m very excited to try it. THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS x

Haha I’m so glad there are people as anal at planning as me!! I’ve always done this in my notes on my laptop. To be honest, it’s rare nowadays that I have a post ready more than a day before it’s meant to go live so I think I’d find this difficult to keep up with. Imagine having a post just upload with a title and nothing else hahah THAT IS DEFFO WHAT’D HAPPEN TO ME. Although this might be the kick up the ass I need to be a bit more prepared… Deffo gonna download it either way!!

The good thing about the calendar is that it won’t actually let your post go live unless you’ve physically pressed the schedule button! It just gets it all ready as a draft!

This is genius! I sadly made the rubbish decision to blog on Blogger and they don’t have plug ins or basically anything useful, which is infuriating cause I’d absolutely love to be able to use this! Thanks for sharing 🙂
