The title sounds like a clickbait spam ad, but I promise this is legit. You see, in my effort to be on top of things and do/find things that make me happy, I found the perfect Wordpress organisation plugin. And I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. So I’m going to.
But first, a backstory…
A long time ago in a land the same as this one, a (month) young(er) Jasmine was planning her December content. For the last two years she had worked away at creating a blog planning Calendar in her bullet journal. However, this year – to be quite frank – she couldn’t be bothered. In an effort to find the magical app that she imagined in her head, she googled “good blog planning Calendars” and lo and behold WordPress had one of their own! After a quick read and a cautious download of a plugin, she perused it for herself. One month later, she doesn’t know how she lived without it.
What is this magical plugin and how do I use it?
I’m glad you asked. Well, turns out WordPress has an editorial calendar plugin that you can install. Once installed, it appears under the “Posts” section in the sidebar…
And then once you’re on it, boom – you have a whole Calendar to input and plan blog posts in.
To add a post, all you have to do is hover over the date you want it live, click “new post in the corner and start writing in the title.
I use the Calendar to lightly plan and order my blog posts. I’ll choose the date and time of the post, put the title (Or a rough title for now) in the title box, and then a small bullet pointed plan in the content box. Then I click save, and it’s saved as a draft, as well as positioned in my fancy WordPress Calendar – I just have to click “edit” when I’m ready to write it, and it will take me to my regular Wordpress editor.
“What if I decide to change the date of my content?” You ask. Well, that’s another beauty of this plugin – you can drag and rearrange your draft to a different date, and the details will automatically change!
It does everything I want and I’m in love.
WHY didn’t I know this was a thing?!
I don’t know! Neither did I! Maybe I’m like super late to the trend and everyone’s been using this but hasn’t been talking about it? You’re probably all reading this post rolling your eyes because I’m so out of touch… But I was fascinated, and suddenly I’m far more productive than I was before. There’s something about it that really makes my whole blogging experience easier.
I must get it.
I agree. It’s completely free and you can download it here. Let me know what you think! (Also, it goes without saying because I would have declared, but this post is entirely non-sponsored and non-affiliated, I just really liked this plugin).
Have you ever used this Plugin? Do you plan to? Let me know in the comments!
Lots of love,
